Models & Pricing
Base prices run from $19,999 for the Bean Stock 2.0 to $75,495 for the Bean Squared. In between: Bean Pod $23,750, Bean Stock X $31,975, Meaner Bean $39,995 and Black Bean $47,450. Options and upgrades are priced in the online builder.
The original Bean Stock 1.0, released in 2021 with rounded black fenders and black raptor trim, has been discontinued. We are no longer manufacturing this model. This trailer model has evolved into the Bean Stock 2.0.
The standard box dimensions are 60.5″ x 21.35″ x 24.76″. This box is an upgrade on the Bean Stock 2.0 and is compatible with the Meaner Bean.
Black Bean’s box dimensions are 60.5″ x 29.4375″ x 24.25″. Black Bean’s box can accommodate the optional rack out storage box or Dometic CFX3 75DZ. This box is only compatible with Black Bean.
Air Conditioning
Yes, AC is available on the Meaner Bean, Black Bean, and Bean Squared models.
No, the wiring and roof structure is different. We do offer a window duct insert that is compatible with our Tern windows and the Ecoflow Wave 2 and Wave 3 portable AC units as well as the Zero Breeze Mark 3.
On the Meaner Bean, the air conditioner is $3,825 and requires the roof rack and battery upgrades. On the Bean Squared, the Nomadic AC Package is $3,250 and requires the upgraded battery. For the Black Bean, ask your specialist for a quote.
Yes, it will operate on dual batteries for a short period. You should plan on relying on a generator or shore power for extended use.
It depends on how you use it. In humid and hot environments, like the beach in North Carolina, we got as little as 3 hours with dual lithium batteries. When running at a more conservative temperature, we have customers that will get a couple nights from the dual battery system.
Features
Bean’s core models do not include a toilet and portable camping toilets are available separately. The Bean Squared model comes with a portable toilet.
Teardrop models with a front box as well as the Bean Pod can have dual bike trays installed on the front box. The Bean Squared can have a single bike tray installed on the front tongue. All of our trailers also come with a 2″ hitch receiver in the rear rated for 200 lbs.
The rear 2 inch receiver is rated to 200 lbs, and it comes on every model.
Yes. The insulation is comprised of 3/4″ composite material with an R-value of 1.7. This material is also bug and water resistant.
The dimensions for the storage rack-out tray are the following:
- Black Bean Galley: 27.5″ deep x 18.5″ wide x 19.25″ tall
- Meaner Bean Standard and Premium galleys: ask your specialist for the tray size of your build.
- Front Box Drawer for Bean Stock 2.0: 52″ L x 18.25″ W x 18.5″ T
- Front Box Drawer for Bean Stock X: 51″ L x 16.5″ W x 18.5″ T
Yes, the composite wall material allows about 12″ of extra headroom which makes a big difference in how it feels inside. The total headroom measures 54 1/2″.
Yes, Bean’s interior has a soft touch headliner with dimmable recessed lights and optional white/dimmable interior accent lighting. The galley has utility lighting and accent lighting with variable color. (Accent lighting availability is dependent on the specific trailer model.)
All Bean Trailers have a 6×5.5in lug pattern. The stud threads are ½″ x 20, and lug is ¾″.
The floor is a composite panel set on a powder coated steel frame, with the cabin above it molded as one piece of fiberglass. There is no wood in the structure to rot and no seam across the roof for water to find.
Towing & Compatibility
Minimum tow ratings by model: Bean Stock 2.0 2,000 pounds, Bean Pod 2,000, Bean Stock X and Meaner Bean 2,700, Black Bean 3,500, Bean Squared 5,000. Popular tow vehicles include the Subaru Outback and Forester, Toyota RAV4, Tacoma and 4Runner. Our website has a tow compatibility checker.
The Bean Stock 2.0 runs a Timbren 2000 HD suspension, and the Black Bean comes standard with Cloud Air-Ride adjustable suspension. The Bean Stock X, Meaner Bean, Bean Pod and Bean Squared all ride on our own trailing arm air suspension. Pair any of them with our articulating hitch and the trailer will go where you point it. We have thoroughly tested all of our models on rugged terrain.
Additionally, we use better materials for our cabin construction. On the Bean Stock 2.0, Bean Stock X, Meaner Bean and Black Bean, the entire body is molded out of a one-piece fiberglass shell with 3/4″ Space Age composite insulation. This defends against leaks and increases longevity. Those four models also carry a lifetime warranty on the roofline, shell, and frame. Check out our individual trailer pages for specific specs.
Our low-profile and high-profile options are rated for 220 lbs dynamic. This can accommodate most rooftop tents, awning, and shower room.
- Bean Stock 2.0: 205/75R15
- Bean Stock X: 33/9.5R15
- Bean Pod: 33/9.5R15
- Meaner Bean: 235/75R15
- Black Bean: 285/75R16
- Bean Squared: 285/75R16
Bean Stock 2.0 and the Bean Stock X focus on affordability and lower weight, so the spare tire is an option on those two models. The Meaner Bean and Black Bean come standard with a sidewall-mounted spare; the Bean Pod’s spare mounts on the front tray and the Bean Squared’s mounts under the frame.
Meaner Bean, Bean Stock X, Bean Pod, Bean Squared and Black Bean will come standard with all terrain tires. Bean Stock 2.0 will come standard with a road tire, but can be upgraded to all terrain tires with the off road package.
Dimensions & Specs
Interior cabin height is 54 1/2″ across our teardrop models. The Bean Pod measures 38″, and the Bean Squared opens up to 94.5″ with its pop-up roof raised.
Width is measured from outside of fender to outside of fender. Heights are measured with the Maxx Fan (Bean Pod and Bean Stock X: with the roof rack system).
- Bean Pod: 13′ long, 73″ wide, 80.75″ tall.
- Bean Stock 2.0: 14′ long, 85″ wide, 83″ tall.
- Bean Stock X: 14′ long, 85″ wide, 81″ to 87″ tall on its adjustable air suspension.
- Meaner Bean: 14′ long, 85″ wide, 83″ tall.
- Black Bean: 15′ long, 87″ wide, 86″ tall.
- Bean Squared: 16′ long, 87″ wide, 91″ tall.
Full measurements for every model are on our Trailer Comparison webpage.
Find the model’s height with the roof rack system, then add the height of the tent you have picked out for your total travel height. For example, Bean Stock 2.0 with the roof rack system stands 84.5″ tall before the tent goes on.
- Bean Pod starting at 120 lbs
- Bean Stock 2.0 starting at 140 lbs
- Bean Stock X starting at 250 lbs
- Meaner Bean starting at 250 lbs
- Black Bean starting at 350 lbs
- Bean Squared starting at 400 lbs
Most Beans are about 15 feet long. The shortest is the Bean Pod at 13′, and the longest is the Bean Squared at 16′. Our teardrop models sit in between at 14′ for the Bean Stock 2.0, Bean Stock X and Meaner Bean, and 15′ for the Black Bean. Add the tongue and coupler when you are measuring for a garage or a parking space.
Dry weights: Bean Stock 2.0 and Bean Pod 1,200 pounds, Bean Stock X 1,600, Meaner Bean 2,000, Black Bean 2,600, Bean Squared 3,500. Match your tow vehicle to the gross rating, 2,000 to 5,000 pounds depending on the model, because that is what you tow once the trailer is packed.
Batteries & Solar Power
We assume you are using the fridge and lights, and using the vent fan only when you are inside in the evening or during inclement weather. There are many factors that go into how long your batteries last. Did you leave your refrigerator out and sitting in the sun causing the compressor to kick on more frequently? What temperature did you set it to? Is the weather poor so you are inside the trailer using the vent fan all day? Even the time of year can affect this.
Rather than list how long the batteries last, here are their energy capacities. This will help determine how long each option lasts comparatively. AGM Batteries can only be used till they hit 50% without damaging the battery. You will effectively have double the capacity with the lithium battery.
- AGM: 100Ah, 50Ah usable, 1-3 days normal usage
- Li-ion: 105Ah, 105Ah usable, 2-6 days normal usage
- Dual Li-ion: 210Ah, 210Ah usable, 4-8 days normal usage
- Black Bean only Quad Li-ion: 420Ah, 420Ah usable, 7+ days normal usage
- Goal Zero Yeti 500: 1-3 Days
- Goal Zero Yeti 1500X: 4-7 Days
Any battery option can last for multiple days if you are careful about your usage.
All of our teardrops come with solar connection hookups. Solar panels are available as an option.
No, the AC depletes power at a higher rate than the solar panel generates power. Plan on using a generator or a shore power connection to run the AC for an extended time.
Yes, with one caution. Our trailers come standard with a solar outlet. If you want to use your own solar panel, a non-lite-leaf trailer requires an external solar controller to plug a solar panel into the installed solar port on the trailer.
Solar panels will only charge and power the 12-volt system.
The Black Bean comes standard with an inverter that can run the 110-volt outlets from battery power. There is also a front box inverter option for the other trailer models if you have a need to use 110-volt accessories. You could use a solar generator (like a Goal Zero 1500x) to mimic shore power, and activate the 110-volt outlets.
Customization
You cannot pick fully custom colors. We have 20 standard Raptor colors to choose from on all models (excluding Pod). Bean Stock 2.0 will have matching sidewall and endcap colors, while the other models will have Black endcaps to offset the sidewall color. Bean Pod will have 3 standard colors, and can upgrade to other colors.
Yes. We offer a $500 military and K-12 educator discount.
Retrofitting options to your Bean will depend on the year of your trailer, current configuration, and our current service capacity. Reach out to our support team directly at support@beantrailer.com.
Visiting & Inventory
Every Bean is built at our factory at 4282 W 1730 S Ste H in Salt Lake City, Utah, and sold factory direct. You are welcome to visit, watch trailers being built, and collect yours here when it is finished.
Yes. The factory showroom in Salt Lake City is open Monday to Friday 9 to 5. A few dealers in other states carry the Bean Stock 2.0, we attend expos across the country, and owners in many states give tours. Contact us with your location and we will set one up.
We keep a handful of inventory trailers when we can, listed on the Inventory Trailers page of our website. A custom build takes about 90 days from deposit to completion; the Black Bean and Bean Squared take longer, depending on our production load, so ask a specialist for the most current build times.
We do not. Used Bean Trailers are hard to come by. We do try to have inventory trailers on hand if you are wanting to get into a Bean quickly. You can reach out to our sales team for details on current inventory. If you are interested in ordering a Bean, lead time is 90 days from order to completion (the Black Bean and Bean Squared take longer, depending on our production load), so call in for a current estimate before you plan around a date.
No, we do not rent our trailers.
Shipping
Order to completion lead time is 90 days; the Black Bean and Bean Squared take longer, depending on our production load. Your build joins the production schedule as soon as your deposit authorizes it.
If you are buying from inventory rather than ordering a custom build, pick up is 14 days after your order. Lead times move with demand and with the options you choose, so call in for a current estimate before you plan around a date.
There are two ways to buy. Build your own in our interactive builder, choosing your model, color, laminate, galley configuration and upgrades, and it will price the trailer as you go. Or take a ready-built trailer from our inventory, which you can drive away sooner.
When your build is the way you want it, ask us to call or email you. You can start your build with $2,000. This non-refundable deposit authorizes the build and puts you straight onto the production schedule. The remaining balance is due when the trailer is finished. We will then invite you to collect it from our Salt Lake City facility, where we walk you through the whole trailer before you tow it away.
Yes. Every Bean is sold factory direct from Salt Lake City, and most owners collect in person so we can walk them through the trailer. If collecting is not practical, we can arrange transport to you. Contact our sales team for a shipping quote to your address, including anything crossing into Canada.
We do not have Canadian dealers. Every Bean is sold factory direct from Salt Lake City, and we can arrange transport across the border. Contact our sales team for a quote into Canada.
Warranty & Service
Three parts. The original owner of a fiberglass shell Bean (Bean Stock 2.0, Bean Stock X, Meaner Bean, Black Bean) receives a Lifetime Structural Warranty on the frame, one-piece shell, composite walls and floor, and a Limited Lifetime Roofline Warranty against water intrusion where roof and walls meet. Every model carries a one year limited manufacturing warranty.
Every owner gets access to our Maintenance Portal, a video series covering your trailer feature by feature, including winterizing and dewinterizing the water system, the cabin light remote and the galley. Work through it once before your first trip and it will answer most of what comes up later.
The essentials: winterize the water system before the first freeze, keep the roofline and seals clean, check wheel lug torque and tire pressure before towing, and keep the batteries charged over the off season. Wash the shell as you would a boat, with car soap and water rather than harsh solvents.
Anything you cannot find in the portal, our service team will walk you through at support@beantrailer.com.
Yes. Accessories such as the jerrycan mount, propane mount, sidewall storage box and the Black Bean wall mounted table are in the Bean Store.
For a replacement part rather than an accessory, contact support@beantrailer.com with your trailer year and model and we will identify the right component. Because we build the trailers ourselves, we can supply parts specific to your build rather than sending you to a generic RV supplier.
Yes. The Bean Stock 2.0, Bean Stock X, Meaner Bean and Black Bean are made of a one-piece fiberglass shell, so any local boat service shop will be able to fix any damage to the shell. Additionally, any RV repair shop should be able to take care of you for plumbing, heating, and suspension related issues.
Yes we do. We often post updates and trailer walk-throughs on our YouTube channel. You can also read owner stories on our Reviews page.
