Why does this trailer fit your style of camping?

When you camp a lot, all the long setup times and lack of comfort gets old real quick. Especially when most of the time you have two little kids and your spouse with you. I don’t have a camping season, its just all year long for me and so having a trailer that is as comfortable and capable as possible really allows me to get out and enjoy my time outdoors. Black bean is extremely capable. With cloud suspension, having a trailer doesn’t slow you down on those chunky or washboard roads. It allows me to get to camp fast. Once I’m their setup is super simple, open the galley and you are ready to cook. Bust out the awning and throw down some chairs and you are ready to chill. Right before we lay the girls down for bed we kick on the Truma heater and let the trailer get nice and toasty inside. There’s plenty of space for all my gear with the larger front storage box and larger galley area. I can keep the trailer all packed up and ready for adventures!

What is one thing you wish prospective buyers knew about Bean?

Having a bean can be the difference between going out and having an incredible weekend vs just staying at home, the reason I say this is because once you have a Bean and have it all stocked with everything you need, it makes it so much easier to go camping. You don’t have to spend hours looking for all the camping gear and packing it into the back seat of your small SUV, and then forgetting something crucial that ruins the trip. When your trailers is all organized it help keeps the tow vehicle organized. Just grab a change of clothes and stop by a grocery store to stock the fridge and you’re off.

What’s your favorite upgrade?

For me currently I would have to say it’s the Truma Heater, I use a lot of different methods of staying warm while camping, but when it’s the middle of winter it makes it so much easier to be able to bring the family along and know that no one is going to be freezing that night. It’s a luxury but I think its well worth it, especially with kids.

Why does this trailer fit your style of camping?

I chose the Meaner Bean with Basic Plus galley because it is simple, yet extremely capable. Torn between Meaner and Stalker, but with the Meaner I get the front storage cubby, stand on fenders, floor storage, and built in propane connections. I enjoy camping as far off the beaten path as possible, so the 2” lifted Timbren suspension gives me excellent off-road performance. I prefer the Basic Plus galley, as I can get the built-in stove and JP40 fridge, but don’t have to worry about winterizing or sanitizing my water tank. I have found that 1 lithium battery and the LightLeaf solar panel is adequate for almost all my outings (at least with the Utah sun). The roof rack and 180 awning greatly extend the living area, so they are also a must have!

What is one thing you wish prospective buyers knew about Bean?

That Bean is very capable off-road (and you don’t need 35’s!). Ideally I set it up as a base camp and use my truck to run the highly technical trails. However, I have taken the Meaner, Stalker, and Black Bean through gnarly trails, rock ledges, and places that most people would not expect a trailer to go!

What’s your favorite upgrade?

The fridge is a big one for me. I have ruined food in a cooler when on the trail, and not having to worry about ice is fantastic!
